Again cold and clear today. –18.9 degrees this morning reach a high of 5.0 at 5 PM. As of this writing the temperature is –9.0 and a windchill of –20.0.
I would like to pass on some wonderful advice and a weather report I received the other day from a noted Mr. Elmtree. He resides in the start of Tennessee, and has been one of the many receiving my reports via a Mrs. Harris- who then forwarded it to me. It was a lovely surprise for me to be the receiver of this. While I would love to take credit for this lovely piece of advice all credit goes to him.

I hope you do not mind my forwardness. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mr. Elmtree and currently reside in Tennessee. Your reports have inspired me and I couldn't help but think of you when Ms. Daffodil and Ms. Lillie came to me the other day. They sought my advice and I would like to share my response with you.

"Quiet! Listen. I know I am old, as is he, and overly cautious but that is why you have come to me seeking advice.

As I look down upon you, I see that in your youth and exuberance to show the world your delicate beauty, you have sprung forth perhaps too soon. The balmy breezes and warm sun have lured you once again with the promise of an early spring. And now, that you have watched the cardinal stuff himself furiously with seed to weather the chilliness of the night, you are worried that you have acted in haste.

As for me, I have seen the coming of many new seasons. I have watched in sadness the rebirth of my new coat of green wither in their youth and fall to the ground precipitously. It was only yesterday that I whispered to them "not yet my children." For I can feel him over my shoulder and can hear his slow and steady footsteps. He has not yet quit the race.

While he is as old as the hills, it remains to be seen if he will falter and grow weary before the new and strong season can pass him by.

But then, if you should wait in cautiousness, the world will be denied your colorful and amazing splendor, and the eternal hope of an early spring. So, I say to you, "Throw caution to the wind and uncover your smiling faces. For truly, unlike me, you only live once!"
And I will spread my branches to their fullness to watch over and protect you should Old Man winter pass this way."

I will post my next report tomorrow,

Very, very cold and clear all day today. –18.3 this morning reaching a high of –0.0 at 4 PM today and as of this writing the temperature is –16.1 degrees. The family traversed several times to their motorized vehicles. First one would go out and start the vehicle (which has been plugged into a power cord to keep the engine warm) then around 15 minutes later there would be a mad rush of the entire family moving towards the vehicle at the fastest possible speed. However they were slowed down by the fact the doors were frozen shut. So then there would be a few moments of them franticly tugging on the doors until they would finally open. Then in a blink of an eye (figuratively speaking) they would disappear into the vehicle and slam shut the doors they tried so hard to open. Returning home they would pause a moment as if to gather courage, fling open the doors and rush to the front door and into the safety of inside.
A very entertaining moment in a long cold day.

I can say with a safe conscious that today was the most unpleasant weather I have experienced so far this winter.
Snowing, very low cloud cover, –3 degrees this morning, coupled with the wind blowing at 23 miles per hour made things very cold and unpleasant. It stayed very windy, snowy, hazy, and cold all day today, clearing at 4 PM (when the photographic evidence was taken- it looks very peaceful, calm and clear yet that was not the case all of today and last night, and it was still windy when the photograph was taken) The wind was blowing so hard it swept the snow away in open places making small drifts in other places. Very fine snow, not as hard as sugar but the similar in size.
The high today was 3.1 degrees and as of this writing the temperature is –8.2 with a 10 mile per hour wind-chill factor making it feel as if it is –25 degrees.
Winter has stuck once again, I am surprised that only 2 days ago it felt as if spring had arrived with a high of 53.2 degrees.

46.0 degrees this morning, which was also the high for today. Partly sunny and windy this morning yet it was appearing that it was going to be a repeat of the day before. However at noon the temperature was 39.0 degrees and in less then an hour the temperature dropped more then 10 degrees, the wind started gusting very highly and then it started snowing. 1 inch of snow fell accompanied by high winds and as of this writing the temperature is 21.4 degrees with a windchill of 15.0 degrees. (I am adding the windchill mention because the wind is blowing very strongly and is attributing to the very cold feeling weather.)

Warm and pleasant today. 36.0 this morning reaching a high of 53.2 at 4 PM today and as of this writing the temperature is 37.9.
Bright friendly sunshine, and unseasonable warm temperatures combine to make it seems almost as if spring has arrived (although I know it is still a good 3 months away). It appears my feelings were shared by the family who took a trip in the car and were gone for a few hours and returned in high spirits. They did stop at the place from which few return- known as ‘Wal-mart’ but it appears that the fine weather coupled with high spirits made It’s ill effects to none effect.

Warm and somewhat windy today. Slightly thick cloud cover interspaced with bright patches of sunlight. I have attached photographic evidence of the sun breaking through the clouds in a very dramatic fashion. You may view this by observing the light in the upper North- North West.
The snow once again is melting away, 42.1 degrees this morning reaching a high of 43.0 at 3 PM and as of this writing the temperature is 30.0.
An interesting fact, because of the very apparent melting and refreezing where ever the tires of motorized transportation vehicles have compacted the snow it has melted and refrozen into very dense and slippery ice.
I consider Ice a semi-cousin of mine, very hard, most often appearing in shades of grey and blue and very beautiful. I do consider it a flighty type however, it never seems to saty in once place for long and turns into the ever unpredictable water.

Cool and overcast today with a slight wind. 21.0 this morning reaching a high of 39.9 at 5 PM. As of this writing the temperature is 39.0.
The snow is a very odd texture. It appears to be frozen solid however it is actually very find and not solid- the texture of ground up plastic type pellets.
It appears the eldest son in the family departed to return to his knowledge isolation infusion unit. The family enjoying having him visiting very much- as did the Weather Rockette and I. He was instrumental in our trip to the mythical ‘Ski Resort’ an experience I shall never forget.
