The Weather Rock Report

Cold and clear again all day today. Slightly hazy at sunrise and sunset, but clear for the rest of the day.
The photographic evidence looks like it is snowing however that is the reflection of the very shimmering snow. It has a powdery bottom layer, firm middle layer (around 1 inch thick, you have to ‘break through’ to reach the powdery underneath, and on the very tip a very fine layer of frost/snow.
The snow is slowly settling, and being blown away by the slight breeze- however all things considering there has been hardly any wind at all.
1.9 degrees this morning reaching a high of 21.0 at 5 PM and as of this writing the temperature is 3.9 degrees.

I will post my next report tomorrow,

Cold- and very clear all day today. 10.0 degrees this morning reaching a high of 21.1 at 4 PM today and as of this writing the temperature is 11.2 degrees.
The sky was very clear and blue and the sun shone very brightly, giving the appearance of warmth yet it stayed quite chilly.
Where even the snow has been compacted (such as by a human mobile metal transportation device) it is very very slippery, and will squeak when walked on. One of the younger human females took a walk and almost slipped several times, and I observed several human mobile metal transportation devices driving much to quickly and would swerve and almost lose control on the ice and snow.
I should mention the family that lives in the home where I am stationed seem to be very safe drivers.
The snow is quite beautiful and glitters brilliantly in the sunlight.

I will post my next report tomorrow.

Well well well, one word to describe today- SNOW.
Last night not 30 minutes after I had written my report the temperature dropped in the atmosphere and it stopped raining and started snowing. The front walk was shoveled no less then 5 times- the family was expecting the snow to stop early in the morning like it usually does but it continued falling and It did not stop until 12 PM today leaving 11 lovely inches of very light powdery clean snow.
In fact the snow is so deep we are both completely covered- I have added a notification device to help better show our location in the photographic evidence.
It cleared briefly around 2 PM then it quickly clouded over again.
This morning the temperature was 21.3 degrees reaching a high of 26.1 at 2 PM. As of this writing the temperature is dropping rapidly (9 degrees in the past hour) and is 14.2 degrees.

I will post my next report tomorrow.

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plan. The rain today hopefully is not here to stay.
33.1 degrees this morning reaching a high of 42.5 at 5 PM this evening. As of this writing the temperature is 33.1 degrees and raining.
Cloudy, overcast and foggy all day today with rain falling for around and hour at 2 PM, with light rain that has been sprinkling throughout the rest of the day.
The rain is a first for this winter, everyone seems very glad it rained after Christmas. The family has been spending most of their day inside playing with their new presents however they did venture out around noon and returned with no plastic carry bags. They went out to see a ‘movie’ a flashing light show projected in a darkened room emulating other people suffering more then the people watching. It always ends well (in most all movies) to show that with hard work you may succeed in the pack.

The warming tend continues- 37.1 this morning reaching a high of 43.3 at 2PM this afternoon. As of this writing the temperature is 35.1.
Slightly hazy all day today with brief patches of sunlight. Around 80 percent of the snow has melted leaving some damp and icy patches. It seems this weather is causing much harm to the ‘skiing’ traditions and it has been postponed until the snow falls again.
Yet the weather is very pleasant and there is no ice on the roads.

I will post my next report tomorrow.

It seems the warmth of the holidays has carried over into the weather today. The morning broke clear and cool at 14.0 degrees. However it warmed throughout the day reaching a high of 46.9 degrees at 3 PM this afternoon. As of this writing the temperature is 35.1 degrees. They snow is melting slightly but it hasn’t seemed to put a damped on the celebrations one bit.
Myself and the Weather Rockette would like to wish everyone a truly wonderful Christmas-holiday-festival season and I hope you day was filled with as much warmth and good wishes as possible.
I will post my next report tomorrow, and Merry Christmas to all!

A very magical day is the day before Christmas day. Christmas Eve is what they call it here.
A very slight trace amount of snow fell today- 25.0 this morning reaching a high of 33.1 at 2 PM today. As of this writing the temperature is 16.8 degrees.
The family seems to be preparing for another visitor- but he is arriving tonight however yet no one wants to be awake when he arrives.
There is a wonderful feeling in the air tonight and I want to share with you a story I found which I feel explains this magical night much better then I could ever try to put into words.

Twas the Night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Merry Christmas all! I will post my next report tomorrow,
