The Weather Rock Report
Sunday December 31st 2006
Location: The Bozeman House Front Yard, Bozeman, MT

Cold and slightly breezy today, warming as the day progressed. 1.9 degrees this morning reaching a high of 21.9 at 5 PM today and as of this writing the temperature is 20.1 degrees.
There is a slight cloud cover, yet you can still see the outline of the semi full and very bright moon.
The family and all of the neighbors seem to be in high spirits and celebrating all day today.
It seems today is an additional day of celebration in continuation of the Christmas-holiday-festival season. (Why do humans go most of the year with very few holidays then try to cram as many as they can into a very short period?) It is a celebration of the year ending and a new one beginning. It seems to be their last chance to act as wild and odd as possible before they start the new year afresh.
Evening has done nothing to stop their revelry, after they finished their dinner the youngest 3 ventured outside to take another stab at sliding down the hill in front of my station. They trooped outside wearing thick clothes to protect themselves from the cold (which after only a few moments they started talking off layers claiming to be ‘hot’)
Then the neighbors started letting lose what seem to me to be like colored bits of lightening. This excited the two youngest and they started doing war chants, with much shouting and clapping of hands- possibly to try and intimidate the other tribes.
After over an hour of revelry they returned to their shelter. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot- yet I am assuming tomorrow shall be much quieter.

I will post my next report tomorrow.
